Have you been to a baptism before?

It was a cold, bright sunny Sunday morning. My family and I decided to go to Matamata for my mum's friend's baby's baptism. "Are you all excited?", my mum asked.
"Yes!", we shouted.
Two hours later we arrived at Matamata. First we went to my mum's friend's house. Then we went to the church. Since it's our first time here, we are allowed to wish for anything!", my mum said.
"Really?", I replied.
"Yes!", my mum shouted. We were so happy because we got to pray for anything to Lord.
A few minutes passed by. Then the baptism started! Father started by making the sign of the cross. Then he read the gospel and read out some prayers out as loud as a dog. Yay! The baby is now baptised with holy water!
After that, we went back to my mum's friend's house to have some food to eat. There was pork, cupcakes, marshmallows, salad and other Filipino food. I loved the cupcakes because of how sweet it was. I kept on eating the cupcakes because it was as nice as chocolate porridge. "Yum!", I said.

It was an awesome tome at Matamata because I love to celebrate baptisms. It is such a special celebration.

Oh no, I hit the shuttle straight up to the ceiling!

Last week on Friday, my class and I quickly walked to the hall to have our last badminton session.
We played stuck in the mud to warm up our bodies. We played the game for about four minutes.
After our bodies had warmed up, coach Ben told us to find our own spot around the hall. He told us to practise hitting the shuttle towards the ceiling softly with our rackets. We practised for a little while until we have made some improvement.
Then coach Ben told us to split ourselves into groups of six. He got three badminton nets and set up three courts and each group went to a court. Our group against each other with one player on each side. "Yay! It's my turn!" I said to myself. I won! Then it was the next player's turn to compete against me. I tried to focus on the shuttle so that I could hit it. Sometimes we hit the shuttle straight to the net and up to the ceiling but we kept trying because we wanted to improve our skills.
That was an badminton session. I had a great time competing against other people. When I play badminton next time, I want to focus on hitting the shuttle over the net.

Woohoo! I reached the top!

On Monday, my family, cousins, aunt, uncle and I decided to go to Climbzone because my cousins, sister and I loves to climb. First, we went to a restaurant before we went to Climbzone so that we could have fuel up and have energy for our climb.
Once we were at the restaurant, we picked some Chinese food. We had steamed rice, prawn, pork buns, chicken feet, beef, squid, dumplings, spring roll and more! We had a lot of food and we ate a lot. "Their food makes my tummy full because it is so delicious!", I said.
"Same as me", my cousin replied. After our tummies were full, we went to Climbzone.
My cousins, sister and I went to a man so he can put our harness on for us so we would be safe climbing the wall. When we were ready with our harness the man taught us how to climb and told us the rules about rock climbing. After we were told the rules and how to climb, we were allowed to start rock climbing.                We climbed up as high as we could. "Yay! I did it!", I shouted. One of my cousins and my sister tried to climb up to the top as quick as a mice but it was too difficult for them. "This is too hard Shannon! What is your technique?", my cousin asked. "Use your muscles to pull yourself up!", I said. My cousins, sister and I had a race. We tried to climb as rapid as a cheetah up to the top. Yay! It was a tie!
That was a fun time at Climbzone. I love to climb and have races with other people. When my cousins come again, I hope we can go again so I can beat my time going to the top.

Yay! I shot the ball into the hoop!

On Sunday, my family and I went to Hamilton to celebrate my grandma's birthday. We got up early because we had to get both the food and ourselves ready as quickly as a racing car.
We had to go through the drizzling rain to get in the car. It took an hour and 30 minutes for us to get to Hamilton. Once we arrived there, we took out some food from inside our car. "I feel hungry!", I shouted. I looked at the food and smelt it closely, "Mmmmm..."
Minutes passed by and the party hadn't start. I got bored so I wanted to play on my iPad. Even after I've been on it for a little while, the party still hadn't started. "Do you want to play basketball?", my cousin asked."Sure!", I replied. It was a lot of fun playing basketball with my cousin.
Finally, the party started. First we took some photos. We prayed before we ate, "Yay!" Then we sang my grandma a happy birthday song. After that, we ate some food. There were pork, salad, sushi, cake and Filipino food. I ate some pork because it was my favourite food to eat. "This is hard to bite", I said to myself. I tried to bite as hard as a shark's teeth. Once I had finished eating most of my food, my tummy started to rumble a bit, so I sat down for a while.
Minutes later, my cousins and I went on a scavenger hunt. I had to hide seven items. Then it was my cousin's turn to find the seven items. "I found one!", my cousin shouted.
"Another one!", my other cousin said. After they found all the items, we decided to play basketball. We had a lot of fun playing and shooting the ball into the hoop.
It was a lot of excitement and happiness. I loved the food and I loved playing basketball. I hope we can try a different game.

Have you had your graduation ceremony?

On Saturday, it was a freezing cold sunny morning. My family and I heard about how my cousin just had his graduation. My mum had to go to a party first before the graduation celebration. My sister, dad and I got ready quickly so that we could go to the graduation celebration.
Once my sister, dad and I arrived at my cousin's house, we waited for the other visitors to come. Yay! The pork had finally arrived! I was really happy because I love to eat pork. My aunties, uncles, cousins and my mum came after that.
When we have all gathered, we ate some food. "Yum!", I said. There was pork, lasagna, cupcakes, chicken and Filipino food! I loved the food and so did everyone else.
After we had finished eating, my cousins and I played some games. First we played hide and seek and all of us tried to hide in a secret place as fast as we could. Then we decided to tumble. We did forward rolls, handstands, cartwheels and more! "Ugh! I'm so tired!", my cousins shouted. "Let's take a rest", replied my sister. Minutes later, my cousins and I had enough rest so we played some music from the beats speaker. I love the beats speaker because they were as loud as a lion.
It was an awesome time at my cousin's graduation because we had delicious food and we played games! I hope we could go back to my cousin's house next weekend so we can play more games together.
