Why is it important that we maintain Panmure cottage?
WALT know what is the old cottage like back in the 1800's and explain some intresting facts to the class.
It is important that we maintain Panmure cottage because it was built carefully and has been there for many years. The Panmure cottage was built in the 1800’s and was rebuilt in the 19th century. This cottage was relocated where McDonald's is now and was rebuilt near St. Patrick's School.
The cottage walls has been made out of heavy volcanic rocks and joined tightly together. The roof is been made of bricks and was hard enough to block the rain. The brick that goes with the cottage is of good standard.Back in the 1800’s, the family had an old bible which they read to their kids every night. They use it to read stories to the family. Back in the their days the family used a typewriter that they used it every single day. They have kept it for the future generation so the people like now can have a look.
The people kept the cottage safe in order to let the people in the new days see what the family was like back in their days and know what is their culture.
